Calligram

 

This was a favorite assignment of mine because of the creative freedom we had with choosing the words per each body part. I chose lyrics intentionally to how I was feeling as well as lyrics of my favorite artists. (I.e. Tayor Swift, Lorde, Kesha, Chappell Roan). It's an involvement of many themes throughout growing up as a teenager, self-love, femininity, and a whole mix of feelings and emotions such as acceptance, anxiety, nostalgia, grief, and happiness. Each feature, from the eyes to the hands incorporates a lyric that defines the highs and lows in growing up during this time. For example, TS may teach us not to get lost in the drama of petty arguments, while Lorde teaches us to trust ourselves and work for our dreams. Overall, it's a picture filled with both the wins and struggles faced during teenhood.
